Alpe d’Huez in France hosts Argyle House School’s annual ski trip

 

Argyle House School’s annual ski trip to Alpe d’Huez took place in December 2025. 40 pupils accompanied by 4 teachers spent a week in the Alps. Time on the slopes was extended this year as the skiers flew to the slopes rather than taking the bus. Staying in a hotel, the first night of the holiday was games night with activities including use of the pool, table football, table tennis and the perennial favourite – UNO!


Other themed nights included “crepe” night. “Apres ski” all week included riding the luge and enjoying all that the bustling centre of Alpe d’Huez has to offer.

The skiing was fantastic. Pupils were divided into groups according to ability and spent the day honing their skills. During term time Argyle House School pupils enjoy weekly lessons at Silksworth Sports Complex and Ski Slope in Sunderland.

The ski trip is one of the highlights of the year. Friendships are strengthened, memories are made and confidence and abilities develop in abundance!
