Knightsbridge School Announces Adam Anstey as New Headmaster from September 2026
Academically ambitious and innovative leader appointed to steer London school into its next chapter, succeeding Shona Colaço’s 14 years of dedicated service.
Knightsbridge School (KS), a leading independent co-educational school in the heart of London, has announced the appointment of Mr Adam Anstey as its new Head, effective from 1st September 2026.Adam succeeds Ms Shona Colaço (affectionately known to the community as Ms Shona), who is stepping down at the end of the academic year after 14 years of outstanding, dedicated service. During her tenure as both Deputy Head and Head, Ms Shona oversaw the landmark expansion of the school’s senior provision to Key Stage 4 and GCSEs, consistently guided the school through exceptional ISI inspections, and cemented its reputation as a vibrant, academically flourishing community.
Adam’s appointment comes at a historic milestone for Knightsbridge School as it celebrates its 20th anniversary, aligning perfectly with plans to celebrate the school’s legacy while looking forward to future innovation.
Adam brings more than twenty years of elite independent sector experience spanning the entire 2-18 age range. An experienced educationalist, a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching, and an MBA graduate from Warwick Business School, his leadership style seamlessly bridges academic rigour with operational excellence.
He joins Knightsbridge School from its Dukes Education sister school, Broomfield House. Under his exceptional leadership, Broomfield House achieved an 'Outstanding' ISI inspection report in December 2025 and has been named as one of the Top 100 Schools in the World in the prestigious Spear’s Index for two years running. Alongside his headship, Adam has driven educational innovation, assessment strategies, and school improvement across the wider Dukes Education group, while serving on the Board of the Dukes Foundation.
