Plane Oar-some Field Day
Our Remove, Lower Fifth and Lower Sixth pupils took part in a fantastic CCF Field Day.
The sheer variety of activities on offer perfectly captures the spirit of opportunity, teamwork and resilience we foster here at King's School, Rochester:
- Army Section: Pupils headed to The Alps to hone their communication skills, mastering everything from traditional semaphore and braille communication to field radios.
- Air Force Section: Our budding aviators took to the skies via flight simulators, alongside some hands-on aerodynamics practice engineering plywood wind-up airplanes and balsa wood drones.
- Navy Section: Taking full advantage of our historic location, the Navy section spent a brilliant, active day out on the water at Upnor, developing their sailing and paddleboarding skills.
- TechSoc: Away from the field, our dedicated TechSoc pupils worked tirelessly preparing the technical production for the Junior School performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream.
A huge thank you to all the staff and instructors who made the day such a resounding success, and well done to all our pupils for throwing themselves into these challenges with such characteristic energy after a demanding week of exams.
Making a Splash at Nationals
Back in March, Fola swam in a regional time trial to secure her place in the national finals. On Saturday she travelled to the London Aquatics Centre (LAC) to compete. Following a fantastic performance in the heats, she successfully qualified for the grand final! She then pulled out all the stops, swimming the 50m Breaststroke in an impressive 41.06 seconds to claim 3rd place overall.
This is a brilliant achievement and we look forward to watching Fola’s bright future in the pool!
